⊙关于迟到千年 

★　文/青峰 

　　迟到千年这首歌，写的是对于慢半拍的人事物，所造成难以消灭的芥蒂的描写。写于我高三升大一的暑假，在一个心还在昏睡，而身体已在捷运站等候的场景，在台北车站等着南势角线的时候，写下这首歌。 

　　感受是来自直觉的，事情毁坏了就一直停留在错失良机的那一刻，就像心留在黄昏再也无法进入夜晚。在心里想把那人事物毁灭、放弃、丢掉或干脆吃掉，可是逃避只换来更多的不满足和空虚。 

　　因为词汇来自感受，而感受来自直觉，用诲涩拼贴、直觉式，难以连结的结构，以及些许词性转品来写这首歌的歌词，加入与歌词差异大，反而平易近人的旋律。

　　第一次听到迟到千年这首歌，是在高三升大学的暑假，青峰拿了歌词，说要练歌，印象最深刻的是看到歌词的第一个字，我就傻眼了！这个字怎么念？(是底言春天吗？) 

　　模糊的记得，当时我们在某个同学的家中，用着有点中古的钢琴，有没有录音，我也不记得了…… 

　　迟到千年，是当时青峰所有创作中，我最喜欢的一首，也是第一首我能从头到尾唱好的歌！ 

　　大二的时候，青峰说他想把创作们录成Demo，我们仅有的录音设备就是一台MD和一个小麦克风，于是我们选了几个周末，就在我远在芦洲的家进行这项工程…… 

　　第一天，我们吃饱喝足后才开录，起了个头才发现，要克服非常多的困难，第一，我家人的拖鞋声，第二，电脑的隆隆声，第三，冷气轰轰声，叫家人不要走来走去和关掉电脑是很简单的事，没想到我们最无法克服的是要关掉冷气…… 

　　录Demo的过程很特殊，因为不太会使用电脑编辑，所以从头到尾不能出错，主唱和吉他要同时一起录，只要一出错就得要重来，又因为只有一个麦克风，所以还要摆放在一个离主唱比较近、离吉他比较远，又不会被震动到的位置，才会录到比较平均的音量，录出来的成品过到电脑里后，我只会最简单的功能，除掉部分空气音，留下来的杂音似乎也将时空的氛围与情绪一并记录了下来。 

　　2005年10月，我们又重新录制了迟到千年，吉他、Bass、percussion、钢琴、弦乐、Vocal、合音，这一次很丰富、很干净，两种录音版本，各有不同的味道，虽然都录好了一段时间，但这张单曲的催生过程非常的特别，我们恐怕有说不完的故事……

      指南针也有失效的时候，地图也帮不上忙，瞎混着不知道去哪里，只有音乐才是唯一的方向。这个夏天，没有比听苏打绿更重要的事。好像只是这样一直保持听着、听着、听着的状态，夏天就过去了。 
　　苏打绿是一个非常奇妙的乐团：既是知名学术大学的研究生也是疯狂的音乐份子，每个人的个性都完全不同却组成一个风格一致的乐团，主唱青峰的歌声忽男忽女，收放自如，有着魅惑听觉的神奇美感。词曲时而魔幻，时而写实，曲风可清新如民谣，也可摇滚地狂烈，不管什么风格，都具有很令人惊艳的旋律性，加上编曲的细腻巧思，信手捻来，神来之笔随处可见，恣意奔放，无法预测。

北歐之境向來素喜清冷調性，這不僅讓挪威、冰島等地的音樂聽來都帶著共有的氣息外，就連他們的設計也都透露出這樣的訊息。Frost糖霜樂團由女主唱Aggie Peterson與DJ Per Martinsen所組成。Per Martinsen早在80年代中期，就開始以Syamese, Confusion Club, Mental Overdrive, Gruesome Twosome等化名活躍於北歐電音界，可說是目前北歐中生代DJ中的佼佼者，他擅長以準確的節拍、旋律優美的聲線營造出層次豐富的電音場景。由Martinsen的巧手，加上Aggie Peterson纖細清澈而溫暖的美麗嗓音，形成了Frost首張專輯「Melodica 美樂地」的動人基調。
雖說乍聽Peterson的聲音，會直接讓人聯想到碧玉的轉折唱法，然而就Peterson的個案，她的聲音更自然而輕飄，粗礪感也更少，只是相對於Martinsen的編曲手法就顯得較無奇特之處，一些節奏組的處理，音色的調配都只能算是中等平穩，諸如〈Amygdala〉、〈Damian〉等曲子的背景音色都不夠搶眼，過多的回音處理讓歌曲飄離的太快，但能相對應的硬實拍子卻不夠。〈Running Boy〉算是較成功的曲目，背景節奏的處理就很清楚，但同樣的Peterson的聲音依然被過多的迴聲處理給壓過頭，或許這樣的音響空間可以提供特定的北歐情調，但卻讓整張專輯一直無法很清楚的展露他們該有的形貌
值得一提的是〈Klong〉一曲請來爵士小喇叭手Nils Petter Molvar吹出一段相當迷人的冷凝感，一如蔚藍的天空中，唯一能折射冬暖陽光的雪花晶片，緩緩落下如一層覆在地表上的糖霜。
